About Me

It’s easy to believe that achieving the seemingly impossible takes an extraordinary person. Look a little closer, though, and you’ll find that our heroes are everyday people who chose to take a leap of faith.

My own path has taught me the power of intention. Each time I met an obstacle, pausing to reflect and invest in my growth helped me regain clarity, reignite hope, and find contentment within myself.

I began my career as a Medical Service Corps Officer in the military, then moved into civilian service, where I have spent more than 20 years leading in federal Human Resources.

Today, I help clients gain the clarity and confidence to create new pathways to success. Together, we’ll build a space where you can explore what’s possible and design the future you want.

I hold a PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, an MBA in Human Resource Management, and a bachelor’s degree in Human Performance and Wellness. My doctoral research examined how coaching supports and strengthens Psychological Capital in women entrepreneurs. That work grew from my commitment to expand the impact of coaching, make room for marginalized identities, and close gaps in the research. I am an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and a Board Certified Coach (BCC), and I am certified in Prosci change management.

Kennedy Dean Coaching is based in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Outside of work, I’m the proud “Village Auntie” and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. I love gardening, home design, travel, and a great cup of coffee. Whether you’re in town or online, I’d love to meet you.

Let’s connect and explore the possibilities.

Deana D. Kennedy, PhD
